Pre Construction Manager

This business is an award winning, Commercial Head Contractor, working primarily across Institutional & Government projects up to $50m across Melbourne & Regional Victoria.

The Role

Joining as the sole Pre Construction Manager, you'll be a key player in our business.

You'll be responsible for preparing detailed, accurate, and competitive estimates for a variety of commercial projects. Your ability to analyse plans, evaluate specifications, and collaborate with project managers and subcontractors will be critical.
This role will be working closely with the Estimating team to dissect construction programmes, write methodology and help assist scheduling and managing compliance.
You will also work alongside project delivery to establish site plans, walk through programme specifics with Project Management.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside the Estimating team to write construction methodology.

  • Constructing the bid process, writing scope of works, identifying value engineering opportunities.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, architects, and vendors.

  • Collaborating with Project Managers to identify and evaluate project risks and opportunities.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant degree in Construction Management
  • Demonstrative experience as a Project Manager or Pre Construction Manager in the Commercial Construction industry.
  • A strong understanding of construction methodology, materials, and local regulations.
  • Strong construction knowledge, demonstrative experience as a Project Manager.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • A willing attitude to lead and develop further in the business
